Come as you are
Everyone is welcome in The Village
Are you a parent, step parent, foster parent or grandparent of someone with additional needs or disabilities.
Are you feeling isolated, unconfident and struggling with challenges only those who walk this path will understand.
Do you want to meet other mums and dads and make friends with others who get it and won't judge you.
Perhaps you struggle with looking after yourself and want to figure out how to improve your wellbeing while managing what seems unmanageable right now you're in the right place.
If that sounds like you then you're in the right place.
I'm Joanne Sims - a counsellor and therapeutic coach, holistic practitioner and SEND mum. I've set up The Village due to recognising a need for this provision - low cost access to support, wellbeing resources and community that really understands what life is life for SEND families.
Your child may or may not have a diagnosis or maybe you suspect they may have additional needs and don't know where to start but you are feeling the pressure and want to be part of a community that will support you in your journey then do come and join us.
We will be covering all sorts in this community - and we won't be shying away from the things that others don't talk about: relationships, financial pressures, impact on daily life and accessing community to name but a few topics.
The Village will grow and take shape organically and I can't wait to see how it develops and blooms.
It doesn't matter what age your loved one is - this community is for YOU.
The Village is focused on you - as a parent carer or relative.

I feel very comfortable with her and it feels almost effortless. The biggest thing I pick up from her is her passion, it’s infectious. I always come away from conversations with her feeling positive and free. I can’t thank her enough for her support to help me see and feel I’m not a worthless lady. Thank you.
I found the session super helpful, you made me realise my worth, being able to move forward! I felt like I had been freed from my own mind. I started out frustrated & left with a real sense of who I am, to be able to take on any challenge! I really thank you for helping me!
She helped me see what I needed to focus on and how to gain more clarity and control of my own happiness. Jo was empathetic without being patronising and as a send mum herself could understand some of my struggles. She really helped me re- focus and re-frame in a beneficial way to move forward with new tools to help me deal with the day to day. Thanks Jo!!
